I ♥ Faces - Sepia
This weeks theme on I ♥ Faces is Sepia. I was able to get a few new photos this weekend and played with sepia on Picasa3. To view what others have entered in sepia click on this link

For my adult entry I have my son Justyn. He looks so ??? serious? engrossed in thought? smug? happy? hum, not sure! sunglasses hide a lot don't they?

For the kids entry I have my granddaughter Ella. I was babysitting on Sat. and we went to the lakefront. Nooowwww -- she looks likes she's enjoying the breeze and watching boats.

I ♥ Faces "My Story in Photos - The Vacation Edition"
This weeks theme is "My Story in Photos: The Vacation Edition" you can find others at
I love to travel and see different places and takes LOTS of pictures. Last year at this time I had the pleasure to accompany my daughter and son-in-law to Vietnam for the adoption of their daughter. I had many troubling thoughts and concerns since I grew up during the Vietnam war, but they were put to rest during the two weeks I spent in Hanoi and the surrounding area while I fell in love with the country and the people of Vietnam.
I will keep my photos to a minimum since I took over 1,000 while I was there.
Hanoi from the 16th floor of our Hotel

Arriving at the orphanage to get Ella

Such joy and happiness

Signing the Vietnamese adoption papers

Handing her over - She is officially yours!!!!!!!

Getting to know each other!

We visited an orphanage nearby to see some of the babies waiting to come home to friends of Jenna's

We enjoyed the food, it was simply delicious.

We did most of our walking and shopping around Hanoi's Old Quarter.

An indoor mall with various vendors

The electrical wiring system of Hanoi

Hanoi's French Quarter

The Temple of Literature

Waiting out the rain

Sites around Hanoi

Scooters are the major mode of transportation

Houses and shops of various colors and sizes

Ha Long Bay is absolutely beautiful, We took a sight seeing boat tour.

Vendors supplying the occupants of the house boats in Ha Long Bay

The tour boats are waiting for passengers to finish the cave tour

Jenna and I went on a side boat trip through an opening that is only passable in low tide.

We are never without a camera in hand

Sites along the countryside
